Sliding into Baltimore, the Yankees honestly need a sweep to keep their AL East dreams alive.
They turn to Chris Capuano to stop the skid, fresh off outdueling Justin Verlander. At this point, I expect Capuano to hold down a roster spot for the rest of the season, so we just have to hope that he's more of Cap vs. the Tigers than Cap vs. the M's.
They face Bud Norris, who has one of the most Baltimore names in franchise history. Norris has pitched to a sub-3.00 ERA of late, and he's avoided the home run ball this season even in the friendly confines of Camden Yards. I hope you have a string of "This Bud's for You" GIFs lined up.
Three losses away from a playoff spot. Six back from the division lead. Multiple teams to leap over. If the Yankees want to play meaningful ball in September they can't lose any more ground.
Go Yankees. Go baseball.
