Mark Teixeira is back in the lineup after a four-day reprieve. That's got to make everyone feel a little bit better after he started feeling stiffness in his wrist. Tonight, Brett Gardner, Derek Jeter, and Jacoby Ellsbury will make up the top of the order. Tex will bat cleanup, Brian McCann will DH, and Brian Roberts is at second. Ichiro Suzuki is in right field, while Yangervis Solarte and John Ryan Murphy make up the bottom of the order.
Shawn Kelley has made some progress in his rehab from a back injury:
Shawn Kelley threw off a mound for the first time since going on DL, 25 pitches, called it "a big step"

On the minor league front, prospects Slade Heathcott and Angelo Gumbs have been sent up to New York to have injuries checked out by Yankees team physician Dr. Ahmad. Slade with the same knee he had surgically repaired in the offseason and Gumbs with a shoulder injury that has kept him on the DL.
Also, according to his personal Twitter account, 2013 31st round pick Kevin Cornelius is throwing for the first time since Tommy John surgery. The 21-year-old third baseman played to the end of the Gulf Coast League season, but must have had the previously unanounced surgery early on in the offseason for him to be this far along in his recovery.
