Mood Music: We Need A Hero (Redux) by Ron Wasserman
It's no secret that many Yankee fans have their eyes set on both Masahiro Tanaka and Michael Pineda this year. They both represent hope for the future of this pitching staff. Well today Yankee fans will get a rare treat. Due to yesterday's postponement, today will feature a day-night doubleheader against the Cubs with Tanaka pitching Game 1 and Pineda pitching Game 2. I have thus dubbed today the Day of Expectancy.
4/16/14 Daily Predictions & Fun Questions
1. | How many innings does the Yankee starter pitch? |
2. | Total number of strikeouts? (From both teams) |
3. | Total number of earned runs allowed? (From both teams) |
4. | Total number of stolen bases? (From both teams) |
5. | How many times do the umpires go to the replay? |
6. | How many relief pitchers do the opposing team use? |
7. | Name one Yankee you think will hit a home run tonight |
8. | Best overall Yankee of the night? |
You can answer for Game 1 now, then post your predictions for Game 2 later on today once the lineups are out.
Doubleheaders: What do you like/dislike about them? Have you ever attended two games in a doubleheader?
Favorite Candy Bar?
Favorite thing to yell out at a ballgame?
How long have you ever gone without sleep?
While I am excited to see both Tanaka & Pineda pitch today, two games on one day before flying south to play the Rays for a four game series in their "please move the team to Montreal or something" stadium is not the most ideal of situations for the Yankees. My advice is to win both games and win them quickly. Bold strategy, I know.
May the Day of Expectancy be joyous and victorious. Let's Go Yankees.
