About two weeks ago I wrote that we were looking for a few new voices to help fill a void made by an influx of writer turnover over the last two months. Nearly 40 people applied to write, and each of them had a great argument for what they'd be able to bring to the site. Because writing about the Yankees is not the full-time job (yet!) that many of us wish it could be, there was room to add four new voices to our staff. More than we bargained for at the outset, perhaps, but I've been told that there is no such thing as too many good writers and I do believe that to be true. With all of us having obligations outside the blogging world, new additions working with the current staff will ensure that we continue to provide a comprehensive destination for everything to do with the Yankees. Thank you all for reading. I could never say that enough.
With all that being said, the four new members of the staff are Michael Burke, Scott Davis, Harlan Spence, and Tucker Warner. Most of them are new faces altogether but you may better know Harlan as the former Let's Talk About Tex Baby. Please join me in welcoming them to the staff and, in some cases, to the site. I know that they will continue to build upon the what we have been doing here over the course of the last couple months. The entire staff deserves such credit for buying into all my ideas and helping to improve the PB experience on a daily basis. I know that we can continue to improve and have the utmost faith that we are in a fantastic position to do so.
Going forward, I encourage everyone to stay involved in the Fanpost section. It is the easiest way to get your ideas out there and potentially get your work put on the front page for even more eyes to see. Should there be any staff openings in the future, that will likely be the first place we look for good writers with strong voices. Boosting the content in Fanposts has been a somewhat unintended benefit of this writer search and I hope very much that it continues on because many of us got our start there and it's always interesting to see what you guys have to say about any number of topics.
Again, welcome to Michael, Scott, Harlan, and Tucker. I know that you will make us proud.
