Per Ken Rosenthal, Derek Jeter will rejoin the Yankees this Thursday afternoon for the series finale against the Royals. It is unclear whether the Captain will play SS or just be the DH, but he is expected to be in the lineup nonetheless.

Jeter has been rehabbing in Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this past week, beginning Saturday. His return was rumored for this Friday, as his equipment had been reportedly shipped back to the Bronx before what would be his final rehab game in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this past Wednesday. During his rehab assignment, the Captain went 1 for 9 with a single and four walks. He also committed an throwing error while playing shortstop.

Obviously the Yankees will take it somewhat easy with his recovery in the majors, but it will be a welcome sight to see Jeter back in pinstripes for the first time this year. Welcome back, Captain.
