Yankees lineup against Mariners and Vidal Nuno injured

USA TODAY Sports

The Yankees lineup against Joe Saunders and the Mariners is out:

David Adams gets into the lineup against another left-hander because, despite hitting .231/.254/.369 on the year, he currently has a 144 wRC+ against lefties. Travis Hafner will sit and Mark Teixeira will take a DH day and Kevin Youkilis will man first base.

Joe Saunders is having a pretty poor year (5.20 ERA, 4.7 K/9), so you would think the Yankees would have no trouble hitting him, but we said the same thing about Jeremy Bonderman last night and he held the Yankees to one run.

Vidal Nuno left his start at Triple-A in the second inning last night because of an unknown injury. He called for the trainers and left the game immediately, not even sticking around to see if he could stay in. Nuno took to twitter to voice his frustration with the injury bug, but it turned out to be much less serious than it turned out to be.
