Yankees lineup vs. Mariners; Ian Clarkin doesn't hate the Yankees

USA TODAY Sports

Travis Hafner has fared the best against Mariners starter Jeremy Bonderman in the power department in his career. Pronk is 10-37 against the right-hander with three home runs. Ichiro Suzuki and Vernon Wells have also hit Bonderman well, going 14-43 and 7-22, respectively, off the Seattle starter. Kevin Youkilis is the Yankee starter with the worst numbers against Bonderman to this point, having picked up one hit in 15 at-bats.

In draft news, the Yankees third pick in the first round of last night's draft, Ian Clarkin, apologized for comments he made in the MLB Network studio about not liking the Yankees. Teenagers say strange things and it shouldn't have been as big of a deal as it was made out to be by some. Now he's backed off and everyone can be happy, right?

Clarkin is committed to play for the University of San Diego next season, which generally means that the team will need to try and sway his allegiance from his hometown school to professional baseball. What will it take to do that, Ian?

So, that could get expensive. I guess it depends on what Clarkin's idea of life-changing money is. Hopefully that doesn't end up costing more than the Yankees have to give.
