The Yankees didn't manage to get on the board until the eighth inning. This year's 5th round draft pick made his debut as a Yankee, and probably pitched the best of any SI pitcher that got into the game, but was saddled with the loss. The Yankees take on the Renegades again tonight at 7:00 pm.

Notes from the Gulf Coast League:

Adonis Garcia was 1-2 with a home run and a strikeout. Garcia broke his hamate bone in big league Spring Training.

Fourth round pick Tyler Wade picked up two hits and an RBI in his first GCL game, Austin Aune who notoriously struggled with his defense in the GCL last year is repeating the level, to at least start the season. He picked up a double and an RBI, but struck out three times.

Gosuke Katoh, second round pick this year, hit his first professional home run in his first game as a Yankee. Kevin Cornelius, 31st round pick, also doubled and picked up an RBI.

In GCL Yankees 2 land, Kendall Coleman went 1-3 in his first game.
