Yankees lineup vs. Angels, draft signing updates

USA TODAY Sports

The Yankees lineup vs. the Angels is out:

Just a day after saying he hadn't thought of slotting Lyle Overbay in as the DH, Lyle Overbay has been slotted in as the DH. Overbay has hit righties at a .277/.322/.511 batting line, which should be a big improvement over the struggling Travis Hafner. If Overbay finds success there, Hafner could be sent packing if he doesn't come back to life.

Vernon Wells is, mercifully, sitting, even after getting a hit last night and Thomas Neal gets his second start in a row. Chris Stewart is back in the lineup and David Adams continues to sit against right-handers. This could have been one the best Yankee lineups so far if it wasn't for Jayson Nix is still batting second, and against a righty.

The Yankees have signed 11th round pick Kendall Coleman at $150,000, they have signed fifth round pick David Palladino at $371,000 which is $91k overslot, and have signed undrafted free agent Tim Giel. There's a possibility that Dillon McNamara could be Staten Island's Opening Day starter, though there have been conflicting reports on the matter.
