Baby Bomber Recap 6/14/13: A clean sweep of defeat

3B Addison Maruszak 1-3, BB, K
1B-3B Dan Johnson 0-4, E5 - fielding error, third of the season
LF Ronnier Mustelier 0-1 - left game with midsection tightness
CF Zoilo Almonte 1-3, BB - batting .277 this season
C JR Murphy 0-4, K - hitless since his promotion
RF Cody Grice 1-3, 2B, BB, 2 K

SS Alberto Gonzalez 0-4, 2 K

Dellin Betances 2 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 4 K - beat writers had nothing but praise for his stuff
Matt Daly 1 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, K

Ramirez's Triple-A debut didn't go exceedingly well, but with Adam Warren slated to start on Ramirez's next scheduled day, it seems like this was more of a spot start call up than a permanent move. The IronPigs ran wild on the duo of Murphy and Ramirez, and a short-handed RailRiders offense couldn't make up the difference. David Huff starts for the RailRiders today at 6:35 pm.

Double-A Trenton Thunder: L 4-8 vs. Altoona Curve

LF Ramon Flores 1-4, 2B, BB, K, 2 OF assists
CF Slade Heathcott 1-4, RBI, BB, 2 K, CS - batting .241 this season
RF Tyler Austin 2-5, K - 14 for his last 44 (.318)
1B Kyle Roller 3-4, 2B
C Tyson Blaser 0-4, RBI, K, E2 - pickoff error
SS Carmen Angelini 0-3, BB, 2 K
3B Reegie Corona 2-4, RBI - batting .206 this season
2B Jose Pirela 1-4, K, E4 - throwing error, 10th of the season

Nik Turley 5 IP, 6 H, 6 ER, 2 BB, 6 K, 2 HB - six groundouts, zero flyouts

Cesar Cabral 1.2 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 2 K, HB
Aaron Dott 0.1 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 BB

Trenton was down 6-0 before they ever managed to push a run across in the seventh inning. The offense tried to rally, but the bullpen couldn't hold on and the deficit continued to grow. Zach Nuding gets the start for the Thunder tonight at 6:00 pm.

High-A Tampa Yankees: Off

Tampa is currently on their All-Star break. The FSL All-Star Game is today.

DH Greg Bird 2-3, 2B, RBI, BB - batting .278/.350/.528 over his last 10 games
C Peter O'Brien 1-4, K - batting .333 this season
3B Dante Bichette Jr. 0-3, K, HBP
1B Reymond Nunez 2-4, K
LF Kelvin De Leon 0-4, 2 K
2B Jose Rosario 0-3, BB, 2 K
RF Danny Oh 2-4 - batting .306 this season

Jose Campos 4 IP, 5 H, 4 ER, BB, 3 K - five groundouts, two flyouts
Brett Gerritse 4 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 5 K
Adam Smith 1 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 BB

The big blow to Campos' outing was a three-run homer in the third inning that put Augusta up 4-0 before the RiverDogs ever scored. Though Charleston accumulated more hits, they failed to score after the third inning. Luis Niebla starts for the RiverDogs today at 6:05 pm.
