Jim Miller 1.2 IP, 3 H, 2 R/1 ER, 0 BB, 5 K - 29 of 40 pitches for strikes

The RailRiders briefly led the game when they scored two runs in the top of the fourth inning, but the back end of the bullpen failed to hold it, wasting one of Marshall's better performances of the season. Murphy threw out two runners in his Triple-A debut, but also allowed two passed balls. Chris Bootcheck starts for SWB tonight at 7:05 pm.

Double-A Trenton Thunder: Postponed for rain

Nik Turley starts for the Thunder tonight at 7:00 pm in Altoona

Both teams traded one-run innings in the first, but the Yankees scratched out a run in the top of the seventh and final inning to take the first game of the double header.

Game Two:

CF Mason Williams 1-4, K - 11 for his last 38 (.289)

Despite getting out to a 3-1 lead, the Yankees allowed three homers and couldn't make up the difference. Tampa is off today.

Low-A Charleston RiverDogs: W 8-7, L 0-1

Game One (Resumed):

Taylor Dugas 1-8, BB, K
DH Greg Bird 1-5, 2 RBI, BB, K

SS Cito Culver 0-2, 2 K

Dan Camarena 3 IP, 7 H, 5 ER, 2 BB, 2 K
Brett Gerritse 3.2 IP, 3 H, 2 R/1 ER, BB, 2 K
And approximately a billion more. The box score is a mess.

This game was started so long ago that Rob Refsnyder began the game as the second baseman. The RiverDogs and GreenJackets played to 13 innings when this game was started on April 14th before it was called for rain. They picked it back up yesterday with a whole host of new players here and there and the RiverDogs pulled off a win in the bottom of the 18th inning. Better result that the Yankees' 18 inning game!

Game Two:

CF Jake Cave 1-3, BB
SS Cito Culver 0-4, K - batting .210 this season
1B Greg Bird 0-3, 2 K, HBP
C Peter O'Brien 1-3, 2B, BB, K, pickoff - batting .368/.390/.868(!!!) in his last 10 games
3B Dante Bichette Jr. 0-4, K
LF Taylor Dugas 0-3, HBP
DH Kelvin De Leon 1-3, K, CS
2B Jose Rosario 0-3, 2 K
RF Danny Oh 0-2, BB, K

Evan Rutckyj 6 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K, WP, HB
Derek Varnadore 2.1 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K, 2 HB
Alex Smith 0.2 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 0 BB - 1.04 ERA this season

Rutckyj was the hard luck loser in this one, giving up only one run in the sixth inning as the only run in the game. You can't blame the RiverDogs too much, as they played 14 innings yesterday total, but three hits is pretty poor. Jose Campos starts for Charleston tonight at 7:05 pm.
