Bootcheck struggled in the first inning, giving up all four Bisons runs. The RailRiders wouldn't get on the board until the bottom of the ninth, but they couldn't complete a comeback. David Huff starts for SWB today at 7:05 pm.

Double-A Trenton Thunder: W 3-2 vs. Richmond Flying Squirrels

The game was tied at two heading into the bottom of the ninth when a Tyler Austin double drove in the winning run for his third hit of the day. Austin hasn't hit extremely well in his first taste of Double-A this season, but he has picked it up a bit lately. Trenton is off today.

High-A Tampa Yankees: L 1-3, L 1-2 vs. Lakeland Flying Tigers

Game One:

CF Mason Williams 2-3, BB, K - 10 for his last 34 (.294)
DH Angelo Gumbs 1-4, 3 K
LF Ben Gamel 2-4, HR, RBI, K - first homer of the season

SS Carmen Angelini 0-3, K - promoted to Trenton after the game
2B Rob Refsnyder 1-3, 2 E4 - throwing, fielding error, eleventh and twelfth errors of the season
RF Yeral Sanchez 0-3
3B Casey Stevenson 1-3, K
1B Francisco Arcia 0-2, BB, 2 K

Michael Pineda 4.1 IP, 2 H, 1 R/0 ER, 1 BB, 4 K - four groundouts, three flyouts
Rigoberto Arrebato 1.2 IP, 5 H, 2 R/1 ER, 0 BB, 4 K, WP

The difference in the game was two unearned runs caused by two Rob Refsnyder errors. The Yankees have tried to convert him from outfielder to second baseman, so growing pains are expected, but at some point it's going to have to seem smarter to move him back to a position he's more comfortable with if the numerous errors continue.

Game Two:

CF Mason Williams 0-3
2B Angelo Gumbs 0-2, BB, SB - batting .235 this season
3B Casey Stevenson 0-1, BB
DH Rob Refsnyder 1-3, 2B - batting .289 this season
C Francisco Arcia 1-3, 2B
SS Dan Fiorito 0-3 - batting .248 this season
1B Saxon Butler 0-2, K, E3 - missed catch, sixth of the season
LF Jose Toussen 1-3
RF Eduardo Sosa 0-3, K

Bryan Mitchell 5 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 4 K - seven groundouts, one flyout
Zach Arneson 1 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, K

Tampa got out to an early lead in the first inning but the Flying Tigers scored two runs in the third inning and the Yankees couldn't make up the difference after managing only three hits in the game. Tampa takes on the Charlotte Knights tonight at 6:30 pm in Charlotte.

Low-A Charleston RiverDogs: W 5-2 Asheville Tourists

LF Taylor Dugas 1-4, 2B, 2 RBI, K - 9 for his last 38 (.237)

Dietrich Enns 3 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, K, HB - allowed 3 ER in 38.1 IP (0.70 ERA) this season

After the Tourists put two runs on the board in the fourth, the RiverDogs answered with three runs in the fifth and two more in the eighth to earn their 35th win of season. Charleston will complete a previously suspended game this evening before Brett Gerritse starts the normally scheduled game at 7:05 pm against the Greenville Drive.
