Reports are coming out that Derek Jeter did not make his work out today, and is instead making an unscheduled doctor's visit in Charlotte. This is not looking good. Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News asked Girardi about this:
Asked if something happened during Wednesday's workout that prompted Jeter's doctor visit, Girardi said, "Put two and two together."— Mark Feinsand (@FeinsandNYDN) April 18, 2013
UPDATE: Brian Cashman spoke at a press conference today and said that Jeter had a CT scan which revealed a small crack around the previous ankle injury.

Cashman also stated that Jeter will not be back until sometime after the All Star Break, saying that there will be no new surgery for Jeter and that it would have to heal naturally.
Cash: no question..This is a setback. Said new fracture is small but will need to back off for awhile.Hoping for return after all-star break— Meredith Marakovits (@M_Marakovits) April 18, 2013
Hoping for a return is not a guarantee. If he does return, it's very unlikely they'll use him much at SS this year. All we can do is wait and see.
Eduardo Nunez, this is your time to shine.
