Prospect Catcher Rankings:

Yankee prospect Gary Sanchez was ranked as the third-best catching prospect in baseball by MLB.com behind Travis d'Arnaud and Mike Zunino. After trading away Jesus Montero and dealing with Austin Romine's diminishing stock, having 20 year old Sanchez ranked so highly is promising for the future.

Thank You, Philadelphia:

The Yankees discussed bringing Delmon Young to the Bronx internally, but were ultimately unimpressed by reports of his performance, according to Jon Heyman. I'm all for finding outfield help, but after everything that happened when he visited New York with the Tigers, it seems like there have to be better options in the world. Luckily, the Phillies saved them from discussing the matter any more seriously.

What's to Come With Tex:

Chad Jennings at LoHud looks at the best and worst case scenarios for Mark Teixeira going into 2013. Will he realize that he isn't over the hill and get back to the player he was before, or is his decline a sign of things only getting worse?

More World Baseball Classic News:

Daniel Marcus at It's About The Money breaks down how Team USA stacks up against the rest of the world on the baseball diamond. I can't say that I have even a casual interest in the WBC, but if you do, it could be nice to see how each team is stacking up.

Scouring For a Catcher:

Free agents are out and in-house options leave a lot to be desired, but could the trade market provide something of interest for the Yankees at the backstop position? The team seems unwilling to go with anything other than the mashup of Francisco Cervelli, Chris Stewart, Austin Romine, and Bobby Wilson, but it's always possible they could be tempted into something that sucks a little less.
