- When Brett Gardner returns to the Yankee lineup, should Joe Girardi and Co. consider moving Curtis Granderson to left field and letting Gardner play center? EJ Fagan at The Yankee Analysts thinks so. Granderson's defense has left a lot to be desired so far in 2012 and having him play a corner outfield position may help the team in negotiations once he hits free agency.

- TYA also checked out how the Top 20 prospects in the system did during the month of June. Briefest of summaries: Gary Sanchez and Tyler Austin were great, Dante Bichette Jr. and Dellin Betances were not.

- Joba Chamberlain threw 40 pitches yesterday and is scheduled to throw a simulated game on Friday. After that is done, he'll begin a rehab assignment on his way back to the Bronx after Tommy John surgery and a dislocated ankle.

- Jeff Sullivan's This Week In Worst at Baseball Nation includes a pitch by our own Hiroki Kuroda. If you've never checked out this series, you are truly missing out. The honorable mention for Worst Defensive Play is my favorite.

- American League Home Run Derby captain Robinson Cano named his team for the contest yesterday. Cano, Mark Trumbo, Prince Fielder, and Jose Bautista will compete against Matt Kemp, Giancarlo Stanton, Carlos Beltran, and Carlos Gonzalez to take home the title that Cano won a year ago. Here's to a repeat performance.
