The New York Yankees do not believe San Diego Padres outfielder Carlos Quentin is a fit with the team, reports Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com. Quentin has recently been tied to the Toronto Blue Jays and Detroit Tigers.
#yankees dont believe quentin fits them, as theyd seek a speedier gardner replacement if hes out. others love carlos tho.

Heyman adds that if the Yankees were to seek a replacement for injured outfielder Brett Gardner, they would look to acquire a speedier player. Heyman does note that other teams love Quentin.
Over his 13 games since being activated from the disabled list, Quentin has posted a line of .405/.528/.857 with five home runs, four doubles and 10 RBIs.
While the Yankees offense has been one of the best in the league this season, they’ve received limited production from their corner outfielders. This is especially true in left field, a position that has only combined to hit at a clip of .204/.284/.351.
