It's another matchup of pitching prospects who haven't quite panned out as Phil Hughes will try to help the Yankees salvage a series split today against the Royals and Luke Hochevar (the top overall pick of the 2006 MLB Draft). This start will be huge for Hughes, whose rotation spot might be in danger with Andy Pettitte bound to officially return to the Yankees' rotation soon (he is starting today as well, for AAA Empire State against Pawtucket in Rochester). Incidentally, I must remark that the Royals' lineup has some awesome names in it, but I hope they all strike out.
Also Nick Swisher's back, though as a DH. Sadly, we still have to deal with Raul Ibanez in the outfield. Keep whatever you need nearby to get through the game; I will not judge you.
If the game starts to drag, I highly recommend checking out Lord Duggan's FanPost. Or just do it anyway, you won't regret it.
Let's go Yankees.
