Spring Training Game 28: Yankees vs Phillies

Go ahead and tell this man you want to send him to the minors. I'll wait.
Go ahead and tell this man you want to send him to the minors. I'll wait.

Spring Training games are rather meaningless, but that's not really true if you are fighting for a spot on the big league club with every outing.

All eyes will be on Michael Pineda, and the radar gun, tonight as he tries to avoid a stint with the Scranton Wilkes-Barre/Empire State Traveling Roadshow. How he performs tonight will have a major impact on not only his standing with the team, but the other starters he's likely battling for the last spots in the rotation.

Yankees:

Derek Jeter SS

Curtis Granderson CF

Robinson Cano 2B

Alex Rodriguez 3B

Eric Chavez 1B

Russell Martin C

Andruw Jones DH

Justin Maxwell RF

Brett Gardner LF

Boone Logan, Cesar Cabral, Cory Wade, Clay Rapada, George Kontos and various others are available to pitch after Pineda. Gustavo Molina, Eduardo Nunez, Doug Bernier, Bill Hall, DeWayne Wise, Chris Dickerson, and Zoilo Almonte will take over once the regulars leave.

Phillies:

Juan Pierre LF

Shane Victorino CF

Jimmy Rollins SS

Jim Thome DH

Hunter Pence RF

Placido Polanco 3B

Ty Wigginton 1B

Carlos Ruiz C

Freddy Galvis 2B

Antonio Bastardo gets the start for Philadelphia, with Jonathan Papelbon, Chad Qualls, and Kyle Kendrick also due to pitch tonight.

YES and MLB Network are televising the game this evening.
