New York Yankees Afternoon Links: Irene Edition

I apologize for this being a few hours late. I'm back up at Marist College now, and for the life of me I could not get my wireless internet to work during the storm.

There's currently a legitimate river in my parking lot, and it's starting to look like rapids. Even some rocks got moved around.

Anyway, I'm sorry I couldn't get this to you sooner. On to your usual news.

Yankees Irate Over Orioles Game Rescheduling - Fox Sports

There's currently some controversy over the lack of communication of yesterday's lack of a double header. From Cashman:

Major League Baseball and Baltimore never communicated with me. I wasn't aware. When we found out, MLB told us our players approved it. Our players said they didn't. MLB and the Orioles need to get together on communication issues.

The rescheduled date is now September 8th, and the Yankees have only one off day in September due to it.

ESPN wonders if Curtis Granderson's play in center field will hurt his MVP chances.

My take? Defensive metrics can be vary significantly from season to season, and since Granderson has a history of playing a very good center field, I see no reason as to why it could or should hurt his credentials.

Have a good day, and stay safe Pinstripe Alley.
