New York Yankees News: More Returns

Mood Music - Taxman by The Beatles

After his return to the Yankees, it appears that Ivan Nova will be staying a little while longer, with the team opting to use six starting pitchers for at least one turn in the rotation. As I doubt this is viewed as a long term solution, one would have to think Nova or Phil Hughes will be headed to AAA or the bullpen before long. Be on the watch for every Nova/Hughes start from here on out to be under a microscope.

Alex Rodriguez is also inching towards coming back to us. To this point, there have been no setbacks or alterations to the timetable, so continue to look for A-Rod around the middle of August. Although the Yankee lineup has continued to plug along in his absence, his return should give a nice boost. Be on the watch for batting order panic as only three of Brett Gardner, Derek Jeter, Curtis Granderson, Nick Swisher, and Mark Teixeira can reside in the 1-3 slots.

Despite all of the advancements in conditioning and training, injuries in baseball have actually been increasing over the past few years. I'm not sure what to make of all of this, but it's interesting nonetheless.

Got seventeen thousand dollars? Want a foul ball? Well, no, you can't have one, because that's not enough.
