Is Ivan Nova a journeyman yet? He's good enough to play, but not good enough (or highly paid enough) to earn Joe Girardi's trust. He's posted the highest WHIP in the rotation and the lowest K:BB ratio and the fewest innings per start (non-dead-arm Phil Hughes division), but he's tied with Freddy Garcia in second for wins so we feel good when Nova is on the mound.
Mr. Smoke-and-Mirrors, Jr. takes the hill against the Angels, given another chance to regress to the mean or to defy expectations. Hopefully he can at least keep Bobby Abreu in the yard.
