Yankees Defeat Orioles 4-2

The New York Yankees defeated the Baltimore Orioles today 4-2, taking the set vs. the division opponent. The crowd was quiet, and so were the bats, but the Yankees scored just enough.

The Yankees did not make a trade today, but they did acquire another great outing from Freddy Garcia for a payday to be named later. Garcia pitched six innings, surrendering two runs on five hits. Garcia struck out six, and walked two.

Hector Noesi, David Robertson, and Mariano Rivera combined for three shutout innings of relief, and that was the Yankees pitching.

The Yankees offense came on a three run triple by Brett Gardner, and an RBI ground out by Curtis Granderson.

Derek Jeter left the game with a finger injury, but is only day to day.

With the win the Yankees are 31-7 in day games, have won fourteen straight home series, and went 7-3 on this homestead. The Yankees will head to the Windy City tomorrow for a series against the Chicago White Ozzie Guillen is Nuts Sox.
