Gerrit Cole, almost a Yankee in 2008.
Gerrit Cole, almost a Yankee in 2008.

Update 10:50 p.m.: The Yankees select Dante Bichette, Jr. with the 51st overall pick. One of MLBN's talking heads said he has power but expects he'll move to the outfield eventually. And yes, he is the son of former Rockie Dante Bichette, holder of 274 career home runs.

The draft will be aired at 7 p.m. on MLB Network.

Who will go no. 1? Where will former Yankee-pick Gerrit Cole go? What about the Yankees' first pick at no. 51 (compensation for Javy Vazquez)?

And you can thank Randy Levine and the Brothers Steinbrenner for whoever the Rays take at no. 31 and no. 38.

Update: Cole goes no. 1 overall to Pittsburgh.

Update 2: Anthony Rendon (3B from Rice U.), thought to be a sure top two pick, goes sixth overall to Washington. BTW, he turns 21 today.

Update 3: The Mets take Brandon Nimmo, a prep OFer from Wyoming.

Update 4: Boston selects RHP Matt Barnes out of UConn.

Update 5: Tampa makes its first of three first-round picks - prep RHP Taylor Guerrieri.

Update 6: Boston selects prep catcher Blake Swihart.

Update 7: Tampa takes a college OFer and prep SS with picks no. 31 and 32.
