Backing a solid if unspectacular start from CC Sabathia, the New York Yankees offense exploded in the opening game of their series against the Texas Rangers.  Charging him with six earned runs and dealing him his first loss of the season, the Yankees knocked Rangers starting pitcher Alexi Ogando out of the game after only 1.2 innings.

Offensively, Eduardo Nunez, Brett Gardner, and Alex Rodriguez had big days to accompany Nick Swisher, Curtis Granderson, and Robinson Cano, who all hit home runs.

After CC Sabathia battled through 7 innings, the final two innings were thrown by Luis Ayala and Lance PendletonIvan Nova will take the ball for the Yankees tomorrow, looking to build off of his last two strong starts.

Play of the Game: Curtis Granderson's two run single to give the Yankees a 4-0 lead.

Comment of the Game: WWJD for explaining the rain delay.
