Mood Music - Fourth of July by Soundgarden

After some truly ugly losses in the past few weeks, the New York Yankees thrashing of the Baltimore Orioles was helpful in getting them back on the right path.

AL East Standings

Tampa Bay 25 19 .568 0 Lost 1
New York 23 19 .547 1 Won 3
Boston 23 20 .534 1.5 Won 6
Toronto 22 21 .511 2.5 Won 1
Baltimore 19 23 .452 5 Lost 3

Most notably, some of the slumping Yankees, Nick Swisher, Alex Rodriguez, and Derek Jeter looked better at the plate.  Welcoming the New York Mets and Toronto Blue Jays to the Stadium, the Yankees will look to keep things moving in the right direction.

Chris Dickerson is counting his blessings for suffering "only" a concussion after being struck in the head by a pitch a few days ago.  He seems like a prime candidate for the newly implemented 7-day DL.

Oh, and Curtis Granderson is still raking.
