After snapping their first six game losing streak since 2007 last night, the Yankees travel to their home away from home to take on the Fightin' Showalters for a brisk two game set.
2 game series vs Orioles @ Oriole Park at Camden Yards
|Thu 05/19||7:05 PM EDT|
Bartolo Colon is on the mound tonight for the Bombers. There isn't much to complain about when his last start against Boston comes to mind, going six innings strong and allowing only two earned runs. He'll look to continue his amazing comeback against the Orioles, who he's 10-7 with a 3.50 ERA in 20 career starts.
Brian Matusz, he was added to the 40-man roster. Through his first 52 major league innings, he's allowed only 53 base runners and compiled a team best 2.42 ERA. He'll look to get his sixth win of the season tonight against the Yankees.will be making his first career start against the New York Yankees tonight. What's so special about him is that he wasn't even supposed to be a part of the team this year, but due to an injury suffered by
As strange as it may seem to a casual baseball fan, the Yankees don't normally fare well against a pitcher they've never seen before. We're all aware that the offense hasn't been living up to the hype lately, only producing approximately 4.18 runs per game in the month of May. If Britton is as good as advertised, it could potentially be a long night in Baltimore.

Fun with numbers, series notes and starting lineups after the jump.
Fun with numbers:
- Since the beginning of 2008, the Yankees are 19-10 at Camden Yards.
Derek Jeter is a career .313 hitter at Camden Yards.
- In 99 games at Camden Yards, Alex Rodriguez has hit 23 homers and driven home 93 runs. Not bad. I expect the home run barrage to continue.
A few series notes:
- According to MLB.com, Derrek Lee could very well be headed to the 15-day disabled list with a strained oblique.
- Cesar Izturis has been suffering "nerve irritation" in his right elbow and could also hit the DL.
- Apparently Nick Swisher was held out of the lineup last night because of illness.

Here's the weather report for tonight. While it storms now, it seems like the game will be squeezed in! Hopefully the stadium fills up with Yankee fans and give the Yanks some extra support before they head home to take on the Mets.
