Game 16 Preview: Yankees at Blue Jays, A-Rod Back in the Lineup

After a tough extra-ining loss to the Jays last night, the Yankees will hand the ball to Bartolo Colon, who is making his first Major League start since July 24, 2009. With a win tonight, the Yankees would avoid their first losing streak of the season. Can Colon be a "stopper" tonight?

Alex Rodriguez is back in the lineup for the first time since April 16th. His current triple slash is an absurd .385/.500/.821.

Tonight's lineup: Jeter, Swish, Tex, A-Rod, Cano, Jones, Posada, Martin, Grandy.

Joe Girardi is expecting a competitive start from Colon tonight. From what I've seen so far, I can't help but agree.

It's what we expect. This is not a rookie. This is a guy that's had a lot of success in the big leagues. He's pitched at a very high level. His arm strength has been very good. It's not quite what it used to be. This is a guy that I remember facing him, he'd throw 93, 94 [mph] in the seventh or eighth inning. He'd get up to 98 [mph]. He had an extra gear. This guy knows how to pitch.

Anyone else find it really funny that Girardi called Colon "this" rather than "he" multiple times?
