Game 13 Preview: Garcia Makes his First Start

We'll finally get our first real look at no. 5 starter Freddy Garcia this afternoon (outside of a short relief outing), as he takes the hill against the AL-best 10-3 Texas Rangers. His first two starts were postponed due to rain. He hasn't started a game in 18 days.

Opposing him is southpaw Derek Holland, who's off to a tremendous start: 2-0, 12 ip, 2.25 ERA.

Garcia has actually fared rather well against Texas' hitters. Only three of them have had much success, and that's in a very limited sample.

Holland, on the other hand, has struggled against Yankee hitters. In three career games (including two starts), he's suffered a 9.49 ERA against the Bombers. Of course, Matt Harrison had a 7.53 ERA (in five games) against the Yanks entering last night's contest and allowed one earned run in eight innings. I guess that's baseball.
