The Yankees Have Gone Ninja

I would like to write a Yankees-oriented update here on day two of the Winter Meetings in cold, overcast Dallas, Texas, but the Yankees haven't made a lot of noise as of yet. Not that the other teams have done much so far. There have been a couple of sketchy Dodgers signings and more Albert Pujols-to-the-Marlins stories than Scherezade told to the king. It's hard to believe that the Yankees are going to go into the season with the team they have now, and of course they won't—Brian Cashman seems to like to deflate expectations before turning around and making a move (or having ownership make one for him). The real question is how adventurous the Yankees are willing to be. As I've written in earlier posts, they have a few players at the zenith of their value right now. They're good players, and the Yankees can go far with them, but could they go further in dealing them? The Yankees have gone ninja, so we may not find out for awhile, if anything happens at all.
