Best Option for the Rotation.

Well we have heard a variety of ideas about what the Yankees should do for the Rotation.

Some say the Yankees should target Texas Ace C.J Wilson who would undoubtedly need AJ Burnett money but that's nothing the Yankees cant handle. The worry is that Wilson will break down having thrown more innings in the last two years than he had in his entire MLB career. It should be noted howeer that while Wilson has spent most of his MLB career in the bullpen he was a starter all threw the minors and is really going back to starting. Wilson has been poor in the post season going 1-5 with a 4.94 ERA in 9 post season starts.

The next touted option is Japanese pitcher Yu Darvish. Darvish has been dominating in Japan and the issue is that it hasn't even been announced if he has been posted and some think the Yankees could be reluctant after the failure of Kei Igawa and disappointment of Dice-K in the MLB. Darvish could be perfect for the Yankees because it would just cost money and the Yankees have a lot of money and the posting fee wont count toward the luxury tax. Darvish is a risk but his upside is huge and he hasn't had any type of injury history and the Yankees have been scouting his for 3 years, as opposed to Igawa who they hadn't really scouted at all.

Another option is for the Yankees to trade for a front end starter with a package of prospects. The Yankees have some good prospects that could fit with other teams, but the list of teams with potentially available top starters is very short and as a result the cost could be higher than they are willing to pay just like last season. John Danks and Matt Cain head this list but the availability of Danks is unknown and Cains is doubted.

The Yankees could also go with an unconventional Yankee option and give the final rotation spot to Freedy Garcia, who the Yankees want to bring back, Bartolo Colon or one of the prospects like Noesi, Warren or Phelps. This dosent seem very Yankee like but they did it last season.
