Spring Photos: Fielding Drills

PinstripedBible.com is live on the scene in Tampa, FL. While we’re here, we’ll post photos of some of the Spring Training sights fans don’t normally get to see.

Our first photo shows Alex Rodriguez waving to fans following fielding drills on a side diamond at George M. Steinbrenner Field. In addition to using the main field during Spring Training, the Yankees regularly utilize the several other diamonds that surround Steinbrenner Field. This allows the pitchers to break off to do their own fielding drills, while the position players split up to take BP on the main field or take fielding reps on a side field.

A few more fielding photos (after the jump):

If you haven't been to Yankees Spring Training yet, you're missing out on the opportunity to stand just a few feet away from your favorite players as they practice, as evidenced by this fan with the Pepsi cup standing just a few yards away from Mark Teixeira:

Alex Rodriguez and Brandon Laird awaiting ground balls:

Meanwhile, on the main field ... Chris Marrero of the Nationals fields grounders hit to him by a coach standing behind second base. This happens while other Nationals players take BP on the same field. Talk about utilizing every inch of the diamond:
