Red Sox 6, Yankees 3

What do you expect me to say?

Cervelli made an error that created the difference in the game.  Didn't see that one coming.  But Javy didn't pick up his catcher, either; 2 batters walked between the dropped pop up and Scutaro's double.

The offense didn't help, but it feels like forever since I felt like the offense was clicking.  I'm not ready to start juggling the lineup- I like Swisher 2, Gardner 9, Tex-Arod-Cano in the middle. The veterans will either get it going and carry us or it will be a long couple of months.

I'm not going to lose any sleep over this, because the Jays did us a favor and beat the Rays 2-1.  The standings stay the same. The Red Sox close to 5 losses out of the wild card, closer to a 1-in-4 chance of making the playoffs.  The Yanks and Rays are still better than 80% likely to reach the dance.

At least Jeter made Papelbon work in the ninth.  Hopefully he'll be unavailable tomorrow.

Comment of the Game: Scooby Snacks on Jeter "equaling" Ruth.

Play of the Game: Kalish's (who?) homer in the 6th to make it 6-3.  I completely agree.  4-3 in Yankee Stadium and the pressure is completely different.  Maybe Papelbon collapses without the cushion; his control was not good tonight.
