Game 83: Yankees vs. A's

Mood Music - In The Air Tonight by Phil Collins

The Yankees look to go for the win with Cheeseburger Consumer (you're welcome, those of you who wanted the fat joke, but didn't want to read through everything else I'm going to write) on the hill against one of the Oakland A's brightest spots this season, Trevor Cahill.

In his last two starts, Cahill has gone 14.2 innings, giving up a grand total of 1 run on 6 hits and 4 walks, with 14 strike outs. Welp, I guess it's time to bring the A game on offense.

On the other hand, CC Sabathia has only given up 2 earned runs in his last two starts, spanning 16 innings. And as our friend Yankees2 noted, he is quietly shaping into form, and has seemed to get stronger and stronger.

If the Yankees (who are now 20 games over .500 for the first time this season) can win tonight, they will have secured another series win with Dave Eiland A.J. Burnett pitching tomorrow. And take heart, if I heard correctly, this is the Yankees last trip to the West Coast (read: last 10:05 PM start time).

Oh, and here's Athletics Nation if fraternizing with the enemy is your thing. And Vote Swish
