The Tools of Ignorance: Saturday News

Ain't it good?
Ain't it good?

It's been an eventful week for the Yankees.

Despite suffering back to back complete game defeats for the first time in a decade, the Bronx Bombers remain in first place in the division, though their 2 game lead has shrunk to 1.

There's plenty to complain about- the offense, the bullpen, the Nick Johnson signing... but for a holiday weekend, I'm focussed on positives.

AJ Burnett looked great yesterday.   He needs to do it again to show he's really back, but the Blue Jays are not a weak hitting team.  He was staying closed, and after he walked the first two hitters in the third, he responded well to Eiland's mound visit to shut down the side.

Sabathia is coming around well.  His secondary pitches are moving from tough to unhittable.  I'm ready for him to have a string of stress free starts.

Robbie Cano is so good that lefties are walking him, and he's still crushing homers off of them.

Unlike the Red Sox, the Yankees are getting healthier.  Yesterday's game not withstanding, Tex and Arod are heating up, and front office is searching for ways to improve the bullpen.
