The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox have not traded with each other in 13 years, and it's probably going to be a looooong time before they actually do so again.
But, with the trade deadline approaching Boston.com is wondering what kind of deals the arch-rivals could make if they were inclined to try.
To be honest, I kind of like their idea for a Mike Lowell deal. He would provide a righty bat and some protection for Alex Rodriguez the Yankees actually could use.
While we're at it, what's your favorite Yankee-Red Sox trade, excepting the Babe Ruth deal? That's too easy. The one that leaps to mind for me is getting Sparky Lyle from Boston for Danny Cater back in 1972. That one worked out pretty well for the Yanks, I think.
