Game 78: No Whammy, No Whammy!

Let's play Good News-Bad News-Good News.

Good News! The Yankees have been swept only once this season, losing both games of a two game series to the Rays back in May.

Bad News! The Yanks must win today to avoid the sweep, following back to back complete game performances by Cliff Lee and King Felix.

Good News! Cliff Lee and King Felix have both pitched already in this series, so they won't be pitching today.

So the Yankees send their ace to the mound to face Ryan Rowland-Smith, a man who has given up more home runs than Sabathia and nearly as many BB in about 70% of Sabathia's IP.

To avoid the reverse lock- the Mariners play incredible defense, and their offense is starting to click following the recent roster shakeup.

It's a work game, so I'll keep an eye on it and post an overflow thread if necessary.
