Game 71: Getting Back On Track

Mood music - Fire by Jimi Hendrix

After last night's "Bad A.J." debacle, the Yankees need some motivation to get back on track. I think that it's fair to say that the Diamondbacks are who we thought they were, and if the Yankees want to talk about the playoffs, they are going to need some serious practice, even from their older contributors.

Tonight, Andy Pettitte takes the hill for the Yankees, and will try to stop the bleeding. A-Rod and Tex both showed some encouraging signs of life with A-Rod hitting two balls hard into the right center field gap, one double, one long fly out, and Tex lining a single over the shift. They will go up against a traditionally filthy first half pitcher in Dan Haren.

Here's hoping the Yankees build up a comfortable lead, and Andy Pettitte doesn't get hurt in any of his at bats. And here's a link to AZ Snakepit if it's been a while since you've heard about 2001 or Luis Gonzalez.
