I know, I know, pretty simple title name, but it's the best I can come up with! CC Sabathia pitched eight shutout innings and Mark Teixeira hit a grand slam, as the Yankees beat the Mets 4-0. It was the Yankees 9,500th win as a franchise. Also, the win means the Yankees tied the Mets in the subway series this season. (Yankees won 5 out of 6 last year)
The Yankees will now travel to Arizona to face off against the Diamondbacks with their heads held a little higher. The only negative in the game was Alex Rodriguez swinging on 3-0 with a runner in scoring position and fouling out. Mark Teixeira's grand slam was the Yankees only scoring and also was his second straight game with a home run.
