Sabathia and Winn combine for 4-1 win

New, comments

This was all about CC and one big hit.

The Big Man tossed eight frames of one-run ball, improving his career record against Baltimore to 11-1. What's amazing is that he can have mediocre command and still dominate a lineup.

The big hit (and Play of the Game) came off the bat of perhaps the most unlikely candidate: Randy Winn, who belted a three-run bomb to break a 1-1 tie in the fourth (+28%). It honestly looked like a medium flyball when it left his bat, but it carried and carried, eventually landing in the Yankee bullpen.

Nick Swisher is having a Cano-esque streak - he went 3-3 (the only Yankee with multiple hits) and is now hitting .307 (.365 in his last 12 games).

The first three hitters went 0-11 with one walk, but when you get pitching like CC's, it doesn't really matter.

Jorge Posada suffered 'tightness in his right calf' and left mid-way through the match to get an MRI. A catcher may be called up as he'll probably miss a few days.

Joba closed out the game in place of Mo Rivera (who felt 'stiffness in his side' after Friday's game).

Comment(s) of the Game: MichaelGGBGrabow, who both started the mustache theme and posted a great stat (CC's BAA in Yankee Stadium since last year's ASB is .188).
