Who do the Yankees turn to with the season (potentially) in the balance?

Let's be honest- 5 back in May shouldn't make a person sweat, especially when the two teams have 10 more matchups this season. And especially when the second place team is the World Champion New York Yankees.

But 5 back is a climb, while 3 back is a race. That's what the Yankees need tonight. And with a fractured lineup on the field, they need a strong performance from the grizzled vet.

Much of the summer's narrative will be written tonight: are the Yanks injured champs overcoming obstacles, or are they the giant nearly slain by the young upstarts?
