Do you realize that AJ Burnett hasn't lost a start since June 20th? That he's gone at least 6 innings every start since getting blitzed by the Red Sox on June 9th? That he's averaging more than 6 innings per start for the season?
After humbling the Rays on Monday (4 baserunners/7 scoreless innings), it's easy to start imagining Brunett hot in the postseason leading to the Canyon of Heroes.
But first, the White Sox.
A mediocre offense and quietly above average pitching keeps the White Sox in the race with the Tigers and Twins.
John Danks has to rank as one of the great steals of Trader Ken Williams' long career.
After a rough rookie year, Danks has a 1.2 WHIP and a 2:1 K:BB ratio. Danks had a tough outing his last time on the hill, pitching 7 innings, allowing 2 earned on 6 hits and 2BB. Unfortunately, he made the second error of a three error inning, when 2 unearned runs crossed the plate. Tack on a 2 run jack in the 6th, and it makes for a 4-3 loss.
