Toronto throws another lefty. Including Ricky Romero today, the Yankees will have faced five lefties in their last six games (Washburn, Vargas, Tallet, Cecil and Romero).
Andy Pettitte goes for the sweep, pitching against a familiar foe. He's pitched more innings against Toronto (235.2) than any other team, including six frames of one run ball on May 13. He has a 3.06 ERA in his last three games.
Romero is yet another pitcher the Yankees have never seen, and is in the midst of a torrid string of starts. In his last six games, covering 42.1 innings, his ERA is 1.91 (including eight shutout innings against Tampa Bay on Wednesday).
