Despite a 7.29 ERA in his last four starts, the Orioles might just be what Andy Pettitte needs right now. Pettitte dominated the O's last year, holding them to four earned runs in three games (18.2 innings, 1.93 ERA). This is his first start against them this year.
Adam Jones and Melvin Mora destroy Andy (1.111 and .934 OPSA respectively), but Aubrey Huff, Ty Wigginton and Gregg Zaun OPS below .400 against him (though only Huff's in the lineup of those three).
Yet another rookie goes for Baltimore. Tonight it's 24-year-old David Hernandez, rocking a rather lucky 3.94 ERA (32 ip, 1.56 WHIP, 17 K, 12 BB, 38 H). His best asset is his velocity, as he has averaged 93 MPH with his fastball. He also throws a slider but his out pitch is a good changeup. This will be his first ever game against the Yankees.
