A.J. Burnett is 3-2 with a 4.78 ERA. Vicente Padilla is 3-2 with a 4.71 ERA. Both are power righties who will turn 32 this year. And both have disappointed in their current contracts (so far).
Burnett will try to continue his return to form - he shut out Texas over six innings last week and will hopefully lower his ERA yet again. He's 2-2 with a 4.02 ERA against the Rangers in his career.
Padilla's had a rough go against the Yanks: 1-1, 5.51 ERA over 16.1 innings. His most recent start was in August of last year, when he gave up four runs in six innings.
This three-game series will see the top two homerun teams in baseball playing in the top homerun ballpark. I'd hate to be a pitcher in this series.
