The second best offensive team in baseball* (not to mention the defending champs) visit the new stadium for the start of inter-league play.
It'll be Brett Myers squaring off against A.J. Burnett.
Burnett frequently got roughed up by the Phillies as a member of the Marlins, but pitched well against the eventual champs (almost exactly a year ago) in one game as a Blue Jay: 6.1 ip, 2 er, 4 h, 3 bb, 8 k.
After three good games to start the season (3.20 ERA), Burnett has faltered (6.12 ERA in five games). He did, however, make a solid start his last time out against Minnesota (6.2 ip, 2 er).
Brett Myers has faced the Bombers just once in his career (way back in 2006), pitching an impressive game: 6.2 ip, 2 er, 11 k. Myers has been perfectly average this year (100 ERA+), though he's pitched well his last two times out: 13 ip, 3 er.
- Albaladejo was sent down to make room for Wang, who will serve in the bullpen for the time being.
- Bruney has pain in his elbow and will be unavailable for the next two days.
* The Yankees are first.
