PREGAME NOTES:
Yanks have suddenly lost 4 of 5 games after winning 8 straight.
Somehow, the Yanks have managed to go 10-9 in games started by Sidney Ponson and Darrell Rasner - including 4-1 with Ponson on the mound.
Ervin Santana is a lifetime 4-1, 6.15 ERA, 1.59 WHIP in 5 starts against the Yanks.
Sidney Ponson is a lifetime 7-2, 4.67 ERA, 1.43 WHIP in 13 games (11 starts) against the Angels. He has been a horrific 3-1, 6.12 ERA, 1.99 WHIP over his last 8 starts. Yikes.

NADY OUT: Xavier Nady is out of the lineup tonight with a sore quad. He's listed as day-to-day but is available to pinch hit.
BRUNEY RETURNS: Brian Bruney has been recalled from Scranton and activated from the DL. His last appearance for the Yanks was back in late April when he suffered the Lisfranc injury on a freakish play covering first base in Chicago.
Chris Britton has been sent back down to Scranton to make room for Bruney after throwing 53 pitches last night in relief of Andy Pettitte.
OH, BY THE WAY: Alfredo Aceves is making the start tonight for Scranton against Syracuse and Ian Kennedy is scheduled to start on Sunday.
