Ed Price reports that Joe Torre has officially named Chien-Ming Wang as the starter for Game 1 of the ALDS in Cleveland while Andy Pettitte will start Game 2.

In addition, Roger Clemens will indeed start Game 3 at Yankee Stadium if he’s healthy enough to go, but Torre has not committed to Mike Mussina over Phil Hughes if a fourth starter is needed.

As for tonight's game, Pettitte will be limited to roughly 50-60 pitches.  Makes sense.

Pettitte has dominated the Orioles throughout his career (21-6, 3.63 ERA in 33 games) and has pitched well against them again in 2007 (1-1, 2.49 ERA in 3 starts).

Cabrera has been very erratic against the Yanks for the most part (3-5, 4.39 ERA in 12 starts) and this season has been no different (1-2, 5.25 ERA in 4 starts).  He has also been downright atrocious in his last 7 starts (0-5, 7.30 ERA), dating back to August 22nd when he was the loser in the 30-3 ass-whooping to the Rangers.
