The calendar has now flipped to August, which means A-Rod is due for another month-long hitting rampage.  I have little doubt he will do just that once he gets #500 out of the way.

His numbers by month...

April:  .355 BA, 14 HR, 34 RBI, 1.297 OPS    May:  .235 BA, 5 HR, 11 RBI, .783 OPS

June:  .402 BA, 9 HR, 34 RBI, 1.269 OPS    July:  .217 BA, 7 HR, 24 RBI, .876 OPS

Jeff Karstens has been activated from the disabled list and takes Scott Proctor's vacated slot on the roster.  Chris Basak will be sent packing again as soon as new Yankee Wilson Betemit arrives to the clubhouse.

Pettitte has decent but not great career numbers against the ChiSox (10-8, 4.59 in 20 games).  Danks pitched well in his one career start against the Yanks (1-0, 2.84).

In other news, Joba Chamberlain has been officially assigned back to Trenton so he can be closer to the big club once he gets "the call."  He is now scheduled to make his next relief appearance on Thursday and will probably be wearing pinstripes this weekend or the beginning of next week in Toronto.

The featured graphic for tonight's game is the jersey logo of the 1906 Chicago White Sox and worn by the team in a throwback game last season.
