Excellent article by Tyler Kepner with an in-depth look at the Trenton Thunder rotation and the Yankee draft strategy implemented in recent years.
I've been as guilty of this as anyone, but it's very easy to get caught up in the hype when it comes to these young kids and overall young pitching depth throughout the Yankee farm system.
Unfortunately, the nature of baseball dictates the Yanks will be fortunate if three of their top ten pitching prospects turn out to be successful major-leaguers.
That certainly doesn't mean Yankee fans shouldn't be excited about the young arms within the organization. It simply means that we need to be realistic because most of these kids will not pan out in the long run.
In a perfect world, I hope the Yankee hierarchy will be able to weed out the pretenders while their value is high and use them as trade bait to address other needs.
