Chien-Ming Wang is 2-1, 4.19 in 5 career starts against the Orioles.  Daniel Cabrera is 2-3, 3.94 in 8 career starts against the Yankees.

On this day in 1939, the Yankees hit eight HRs in the first game of a doubleheader against the A's, and five more HRs in the nightcap.  Both are major-league records, as is the 53 total bases in a doubleheader.  Joe DiMaggio, Babe Dahlgren, and Joe Gordon each hit three HRs.  The Yankees win the opener 23-2, and win the nightcap 10-0.

Ah, the good 'ol days.

Update [2007-7-27 18:22:36 by anaconda]:

Instead of creating an entire new in-game thread for less than two innings (assuming they don't go into extra frames), I decided to keep the same thread that was used for the first 7.2 innings back on June 28th.

If you recall, this was the final game of the disastrous 9-game road trip through Colorado, San Francisco, and Baltimore -- where the Yanks were 1-7.
